Appeal filed against PUMA verdict

Director of Ouch Boutique Grenville Ricardo Delpeache, who was found guilty of selling fake products from Rihanna’s PUMA line, is appealing his case.

The 44-year-old, whose store is located in Swan Street, is yet to be sentenced by Magistrate Graveney Bannister as a pre sentencing report has been ordered into his life.

The Passage Gardens, Passage Road, St Michael resident is expected to reappear in the District ‘A’ Magistrate on April 17 for sentencing for the offence, which carries a maximum fine of $10,000 or six months in prison.

Barbados TODAY understands that Delpeache’s lawyers Satcha Kissoon and Romain Marshall filed his appeal in the High Court last Monday on four grounds.

The attorneys claim that inadmissible evidence was admitted and there was not sufficient admissible evidence to sustain the decision.

They also charge that Bannister’s ruling goes against the “weight of the evidence” and was “erroneous in points of law”.
