Wiggins accused of unlawfully wounding

A 17-year-old, accused of committing a serious criminal offence, will make another appearance before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant tomorrow.

Isaiah Abraham Cody Wiggins, of Scarborough, Christ Church, is charged with unlawfully wounding Kesmar Shaquille Codrington on February 16 with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him.

The accused was remanded to jail after the prosecutor, Sergeant Cameron Gibbons, made an application.

Wiggins’ attorney Arthur Holder said he had no objections to the prosecutor’s application as the post mortem on Codrington’s body was expected to be conducted today.

Codrington, 23, of Brownes Avenue, Bayville, St Michael was shot while at Bay Street, the City, around 5:15p.m on the aforementioned date.

He was transported to the state-run Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention by private vehicle but died shortly after.
