Hairdresser held on gun and ammo charges

A 46-year-old hairdresser will spend the next 28 days on remand at HMP Dodds on gun and ammunition charges.

Hazel Donna Greenidge, of Block 11B, Bottom Close, Pine, St Michael, is accused of having the firearm and seven rounds of ammunition in her possession without the valid licences while at a sports bar in Pinelands, St Michael on February 18.

She was reportedly observed concealing a bag on the exterior of the bar as police executed a search warrant during a promotional birthday party. The bag was retrieved and the illegal weapon and ammunition found.

Greenidge was not required to plead to the indictable charges when she appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant with her attorneys Queens Counsel Andrew Pilgrim and Angella Mitchell-Gittens.

The accused woman returns to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on March 21.
