One dead and several robberies at that ATM. The bank needs to put proper security in place or close it down.

Sorry to learn of this latest incident in BIM.
    Wishing the Minister well.

However, if often takes for a popular person to be effected to bring home the message as to how bad a particular problem has become. Let’s take some scenarios

Imagine if another minister or two lived in the heart of the South Coast Sewage matter

Imagine if ministers took public transport at least once a month.

Imagine if a minister’s child got stabbed at school

And finally, imagine if ministers where truly accountable, transparent and punished….

What a better island we would have..

So sad to hear this and it does reflect our materialistic society that wants to get things by any means.

Imagine that some will now want to use this to justify the draconian POLICE BILL that is being foisted upon us.

No use placing a security guard there when they say that is not their job to prevent or stop people from performing acts of violence or theft.
Remember Jones and wuk up said that Security Guards should prevent or intervene in fights at School and they say that is not their job ?
People think that the Bank is going to close that ATM got another think coming.People need to STOP using that ATM

@Jennifer: You need to elaborate on your comment. What do you mean by, ‘ wow, that’s what we need ‘.

Why would we need that happening in Barbados to anyone? The senator who heads a ministry is a human like all of us, and a woman like you are. So why your comment?

Read what Outside looking in said. Exactly. As I maintain WE NEED MORE OF THIS SORT OF THING HAPPENING TO THESE “LISTERS” to get any kind of leverage or clamp down. When it is the small man being affected , little is done or blinked upon. When “high” profile affected we get the WHAT, HOW, NAH, WOW etc and measures goes into action. And I know full well who the senator is………..

My Heart go out to Maxine. Being robed and assaulted like this leave a devastating self doubt and confidence in your mind for a long time.

I hope her pistol was not in her bag.

Until we get serious and tough with these criminals, thing will continue to get worse.

Last week a police officer was beaten up, her glasses broken and the system imposed a small fine on the perpertrators and sent them on their merry way. Not even probation to stop them from doing it again.

It seem to me that the system developed a love for criminals and want to cuddle them. It will get worse.

When criminals get to understand that they can take advantage of people even the Police and be given the white glove treatment, when they arrive at the court. They will continue to do it.

For some reason we believe that being nice to these criminals will change them. They will only get worse.!!!

We are too blind to see this. Or are we following the European model of putting the criminal and terrois before our law abiding citizens.

These governments have created a haven and den for crime here in BArbados. They took on laws which was pertaining to the cane ground era, they have allowed the lover of pan to guide them with their amnesty, and other types of rubbish laws. They have embraced pride and miseducated our children to enjoy slaving for others instead of themselves in order to tax you to high heaven and then when that $hi+ don’t work DODDS is the next option or curfews. Glad to hear that the Senator is doing fine , that unfortunate situation could have happened to anyone.

As you all know these things are happening in “buh”bados because ” BAJANS WATCH TOO MUCH AMERICAN TELEVISION ” referring to comments made yesterday on another topic by a commenter named ” Kathy “about another unfortunate situation in Barbados.

So far this year about 2 senators respectively have been robbed in Jamaica , Trinidad , Guyana , etc. and only 1 senator in buh”bados , so crime in Barbados is not as bad as “compared ” to those other Caribbean islands.

Anyhow the ” bandit masked robber ” that the RBPF is looking for is probably a black man with ( RBPF PAO Roland Cobbler will describe to the media as having ) :

    a round head
    a large forehead
    big eyes
    large ears
    a large mouth
    dark skin
    bow legs
    walks with an erect stance.
    big lips large teeth

How yuh get a bowed foot man walking with an erect stance ?

I think though that people such as Maxine should move sround with Security. Security does not necessarily mean Police but walk around with a small entourage or a person or two cause you never know. They are a lot of crackpots walking bout who have no respect for anybody.

I wiil not condone Physical violence against anyone farless a

Ossie moore : Thanks luther you are the only person ( so far ) that has responded to the comment of Black Barbadians being described as jungle animals .

Where is the black bajan outrage about this , where are the comments , don’t bajans care about this ? ? ?

Do bajans only care and only respond “en masse ” about such things as :

    (1) a RH sign on a bus bench
    (2) tinted card windows
    (3) a “fete” every sarduh and sundie ( Saturday and Sunday ) night and wukking up en de streets on kadooment day ?

Don’t the Politicians in Barbados care about their “voters” being describe as animals and so is that why they try to feed some of the animals corned beef and biscuits ?

luther thorne says : And I hope that the perpretrator is caught and whupped . . . . . . A PUBLIC FLOGGING is in order.

    Ossie : luther , public floggins ? I don’t know man . . . . . I say bring back the “cat ” ! ! !

In “buh”bados years ago they used to punish criminals by “lashing ” them a whip called the CAT O’ NINE TAILS ( the cat ). After being “lashed” wid de cat no one ever committed a crime again.

One of the last persons to get “lash” with the CAT was a man by the name of Sonny Rollins ( nicknamed “painter” ) from Holders Hill in St. James . What type of crime he committed , I don’t know.

What I can tell you is that after the lashing , the healthy man “painter” never walked erect and straight again. He walked with a stick until his death in his 70’s .

The solution to crime in “buh”bados ” ? bring back de cat .

    Yeah Ossie !
I have heard tales about the CAT 9 tails

The problem in Barbados and the world at large is that the authorities have gone soft like a limp prick , soft on criminals and deviants. A lot of talk about rehab and feeling for criminals and deviants. In Barbados they have gone soft on deviants in schools. The authorities have literally gone soft in the Schools. They placed the softer sex in schools as teachers.MISTAKE !

There are certain roles that WOMEN are not cut out for.
Problems in the Schools is no surprise.
    The women cannot cope.
You need some big strong men in the Schools.
The experiment with the SOFTER Sex has failed.

    Co-education has failed too.
My Next comment will deal with this

So many crime(s) being committed at this ATM and still not much is being done. UWI is just a stone throw away and so the Students will use it daily and are not safe.
I remember up North close to a High School you had to cross a 4 lane road and many students were hit some killed while crossing. For years they were calling for lights to be placed there for the Students safety. After a male teacher from a certain ethnic group was struck and killed, LIGHTS were put in placed 2 weeks later.
Now that a “high-flier” has been robbed at this ATM , now we will see some ACTION.

Some support the CAT-O-NINE TAILS with PUBLIC FLOGGING, maybe even CUTTING OFF HANDS. Others support HANGING BY THE NECK UNTIL DEAD. What about ripping out of tongue and castration in Public.
Now let us all be real while living in a real world. NONE OF THE PUNISHMENT(S) LISTED ABOVE WILL EVER BE CARRIED IN BARBADOS. Even Cold Blooded Murderers are getting off and back on the streets free as a bird. Still waiting for the CCJ to do it’s thing on the 2 that can afford the Bajan “high flier” for a Lawyer.
