Grantley Adams school closed tomorrow

Parents and guardians of students attending the Grantley Adams Memorial Secondary School are advised that the school at Blackmans, St. Joseph, will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 8.

The closure is to facilitate a meeting between officials of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and teaching and non-teaching members of staff at the school.

The talks come one day after three 15-year-old male students received stab wounds during an altercation at the school .

A 12-year-old girl was also struck by a stone and suffered an injury to her leg during the melee.

Two boys, 16 and 14 years, have been assisting police with their investigations.

I wonder what my old headmaster Mr F.H. Barker would say if he was to come back here.

The pupils now take over the running of the schools and the teachers scared and running out of the schools to the safety of the Ministry of Education.

These teachers don’t know that the minister support the children .

MACK where is your evidence that the Minister supports the children? What would he gain in supporting them?

.We have eight older secondary school in this island, when you take the common entrance exam, and you do not pass for one of these eight school. Then the only school you should be attending is the one nearest to your home. This would eliminate the waste time most of these children spend in bus terminals and wondering all over the place and it will stop the dumping of all lite minded children in the same school. The only exception to this rule are boys and Girls who can qualify to enter The springer Memorial or The Boys St Leonard’s.
