Lashley hosts Movie Night Under the Stars

Several families spread out across King George V Park in St Philip tonight to enjoy the annual Movie Night Under the Stars sponsored by MP Michael Lashley.

Surrounded by thousands of Christmas lights, movie-goers took up every vantage point on blankets, chairs and park benches to enjoy the three movies on a big screen set up for the occasion.

The ruling Democratic Labour Party representative for the area told Barbados TODAY the open air cinema event, which is in its 5th year, is a means of bringing back the community spirit to the area and has been a success.

Some of you people just get me sick! This event has been going on for quite a few years now and it is always well attended most of you have a myopic view of what community spiritedness is all about, stop seeing things through political spectacles anything whether held by any of the political parties that promote family and community spirit should be embraced. The erosion of the family is a current agenda that is plaguing the world, rather than you politically inspired critics revell in criticism, leave the politics out of it and see the good in such a venture, it is certainly more wholesome than some lewd fete and the likes.

The truth is anything the D.L.P does now will be scorned by some people. We have to be more objective. they got many things wrong but it is honest and true to at least acknowledge the right. Stop being so petty and narrow-minded. Where are the Barbadians who are objective and honest. We praise a government, then we curse it when things go bad. The B.L.P will get praise for a few years and then the same people will turn around and curse them. We are so gullible and like to flow with the tide. Loyatly, is not our intention, but to flow with whom seems on top. Don’t be fooled by those who now come riding into town, smacking their lips and licking their chops because they know this current government is unpopular, I bet even I could win a seat. SO DON’T BE FOOLED BY THOSE who are bright eyed and bushy tale pretending they are so concerned about our welfare. They are using the current situation to get power to their own benefit…mark my word. All these crocodile tears and shouting working on people’s emotions…give me a break….

Good balanced and unbiased assessment. Many of this people like the thrill they get from political gaming.

“Where are the Barbadians who are objective and honest” That lot is honest and sensible enough to know when to speak.

Lawd mek peace ! De folks just wanted to pass a pleasing old time relaxation time. Bringing back memories of the old time Mobile cinema and the sportyness of going; especially the boys and girls of the villages back in the fifties and sixties. That was a late night-out for all of the kinds back then.
