Indecent exposure

A shocking reaction to a request by a police officer today set the stage for taxi man Orlando Lorenzo Harewood, of Lot #4, Parkinson Road, Grazettes, St Michael to wind up in jail.

The 27-year-old Harewood admitted to Magistrate Douglas Frederick that he virtually bared his all after the lawman requested a search, prompting the magistrate to suggest he should be sent to a mental institution because “only a mad man” would respond in this manner.

However, Harewood argued he was hustling in an effort to make “an honest dollar” when the policeman made the request, and he felt he did nothing wrong.

“He ask and I pull down my clothes to show that I had nothing on me,” stated the accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charges of indecent exposure and possession of a cutlass.

The magistrate clearly was not amused and chided the man for his “blatant disrespect” to the officer.

“That is highly disrespectful. I should send you to the Psychiatric Hospital because only a mad man would do that,” Frederick pointed out.

Things got worse for Harewood when it emerged that he had failed to comply with previous bail conditions for a pending rape charge.

A check by a court officer revealed that he had never reported to the Black Rock Police Station despite being ordered to do so once a week.

Harewood was remanded to prison until February 5, at which time the magistrate will reconsider his bail application.

Remanded to prison where he can get some help. Help in pulling down his pants.
I thought that we had an effective Court Marshal Service which chase after people who have defaulted on a court order. I can still remember the Writ Servers who used to chase men through the cane fields for not paying Rooster Tax.
