Public Notice

All holders of firearm licences are being reminded that the necessary licences must be renewed on or before the expiry date as stated on the licence.

Holders are asked to note that the Office will be closed at noon on Friday, December 29, but will resume normal working hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

The administration of the Royal Barbados Police Force is also reminding holders of firearm licences that having a firearm in their possession without a valid licence constitutes a criminal offence.

Please tell me why do you have firearms in Baebados
You do not have any wild life to shot like moose or deer
I’m pretty sure chickens are not shot with a gun
Maybe to slaughter a cow or a goat but then only the farmers would require them
As for the police it’s part of the uniform as well as the military
Seriously think about it why do the citizen need fire arms

Woman, you crazy or what ?
Animals don’t do humans a damn thing yet people get guns to kill them for sheer sport.
Here you are questioning the legitimate right of people to have firearms to protect themselves and properties from the two-footed animals that humans spawn that live for one purpose, to deprive those who live honestly of life and possessions

By the way, like Kevin Watson said, guns are inanimate items and can kill no one.
People kill people, next thing you would be advocating with your logic is that we ban knives.

What an idiotic comment Connie . And it’s Barbados please not Baebados . Don’t property owners have a right a protect their homes , businesses etc ??? What you want them to do ? Throw rocks ? Look stick to Canada and your opioid epidemic and leave Barbados to the Barbadians to look after thank you .

Drug dealers must have a way to protect themselves from the people coming after them. If you haven’t paid for your drugs you got from them, you must also be killed. The killing Is most times not as random as you think.

And what does your comment have to do with the story at hand ? A reminder to pay your gun license fees . You figure the drug men have permits to carry so they are interested in when the permits must be paid by ?

Look shut up . You always feel you could talk down to ppl but guess what this is 2017 not 1617 so I couldn’t care less about you . I simply pointed out the facts . The story is nothing about drugs or drug dealers killing ppl . It’s a reminder to gun owners to pay the fees . Typical American attitude but that don’t roll with me so come a bit better

What if your lisence expires on the 31 December? This makes you a criminal because their office is closed for their happy time. Note “On or before the expiry date”, we can’t win.

If the office is not open ON the expiry date then you are expected to conduct your business BEFORE the expiry date.

If you can’t understand that concept then you shouldn’t be in possession of anything that needs to be renewed.
