Shop owner held for murder

A 33-year-old shop owner, accused of murder, has been remanded to HMP Dodds until January 18.

It is alleged that Anthony Winston Alleyne, of 1st Avenue Goodland, St Michael,  murdered Tyrone McDonald Babb on December 17.

The accused man was not required to plead to the charge when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today with his attorney Sian Lange.

According to police, Babb was allegedly involved in an altercation with Alleyne, whilst at 1st Ave, Goodland, St Michael last Friday. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance for medical attention the following day, complaining of head injuries.

However, Babb succumbed to his injuries last Sunday.

      Yes and it’s getting worse. The lack of just basic human respect seems to have all but disappeared. Very sad and not a good thing for future.

    The powers that be need to get a SMALL CLAIMS COURT going in BARBADOS otherwise Coral Ridge will have to expand to hold all the crooked artisans we got bout hey.

    We Barbadian need to appreciate the great work of our police Investigators. My concern is the amount of murders and other violent crime taken place in the Island.

    Just remanding these accused to prison is not enough! We need to try them speedily and make examples of some of them.

    Soon they all will be going the CCJ court. The court will let them out on the grounds that they were held too long without a trial.

    I was of the opinion that when we got our new Chief Justice from the USA. Things would have changed for the batter. What is going on!!!!Could some one tell me????

      “RED TAPE” is the hold up. he proposed lot of things to speed up mediators.shift work for judges and time from court to go over evidence so that judgement will be faster,just to mention a few.he is well aware of the back log.
