Seventh man held for Kadooment Day shootings

A 29-year-old St Michael man has been remanded to Dodds prison for the next 28 days on 24 indictable offences.

These have arisen from a shooting last Kadooment Day that resulted in the death of 20-year-old Taried Rock and injury to almost two dozen others.

Damian Omar Pinder, whose addresses have been given as 4th Avenue, Pickwick Gap and Chase Gap, Halls Road, is alleged to have recklessly discharged a firearm on the Spring Garden Highway on August 7, in a manner that placed 23 people in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

The accused man, who has Shadia Simpson as his legal counsel, is also accused of using unlawful violence in a manner that caused those was present at the scene to fear for their personal safety.

Pinder, who was not required to plead to the charges when he went before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today, is the seventh man charged in connection with the shootings.

Shakeem Romario Clarke, 22, of Golden Ridge, St George; Elijah Copeland, 17, of Chase Gap, Halls Road, St Michael; Raheem Grimes, 17, of Chadderton Road, Carrington Village, St Michael; Tristan Alleyne, 22, of Westbury Road, St Michael; Diego Rayshawn Wilson, 17, of Spencers Gap, Baxters Road, St Michael; and 21-year-old Tosharo Ricardo Rouse, of Murphy Pasture, Chapman Lane, St Michael were all previously charged in connection with the incident.

Should have known better “Ma boy”! You up-set de ministers and a whole lotta Bajans especially the poor vendors and merchants with your indiscrimant, lawless, amimal like behavor. You showed no respect from the unborn way up to grand-parents on that Kadooment Day 2017 AD. Your act will go down in the annuals of Barbados for generations to come. We Barbadians spare no mercy in lue to your criminal activity.
