Yarde finally owns up to theft after he was caught in the act

A 48-year-old man, of no fixed place of abode, will spend the next 12 months in prison for theft.

When Grafton Junior Yarde first appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant he had pleaded not guilty to stealing $2,400 belonging Talha Bhana, sometime between August 29 and 30.

However, he had a change of heart last month and pleaded guilty to the charge.

Today the prosecutor, Sergeant Cameron Gibbons, said Bhana left the money in her car on August 29. She later discovered it missing and upon reviewing her surveillance video saw Yarde committing the act.

“I ain’t got nothing to say Ma’am,” Yarde, who has a long criminal history told the magistrate, today.

His sentence will run consecutive to any time already being spent at HMP Dodds.
