Suspected burglar to know fate in January

A 27- year-old man, who was found bobbing behind a television stand after breaking into a home, will know his fate in the New Year.

Darell Ramon Foster, of 1st Avenue, Fairfield, Black Rock, St Michael, pleaded guilty to entering the home of Fiona Husbands, with intent to commit theft, on December 14.

Husbands’ daughter was opening the windows to the house when saw a man, who was later identified as Foster, behind the stand and shouted, “what you doing in here”.

In response, she was told by the home invader, “I come to talk to you”.

However, she became fearful and run into the kitchen to call 211.

The accused followed, causing her to retreat to another section of the house, but by the time the police got there, Foster was nowhere to be found.

Today he told Magistrate Douglas Frederick that he was in the habit of getting food from the family but on the day in question no one was there and he wanted something to eat.

However, Frederick ordered a pre-sentencing report on Foster, who is not known to the court.

He will know his fate on January 12.
