Pile makes off with ICBL’s motorcycle

A St Michael man has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for theft of a motorcycle.

Jamar Antonio Pile, of Skeetes Road, Jackman, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today to stealing the $7,000 item belonging to the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited, sometime between October 25 and 26, 2012.

According to the prosecutor, Pile cut through the fence securing ICBL’s compound and rode away with the motorcycle.

But rather than appealing for leniency, the accused man, who is currently serving time in jail, made an unusual request for a consecutive sentence to be imposed on him.

He explained to the magistrate that he was desirous of participating in the programmes being offered at the prison, but could only do so if he was serving a sentence.

His wish was granted.

However, Pile still has a number of other pending charges, including murder.

    Hahaha…what a guy!
A number of charges pending, including murder. SMH.
I am reminded of Slobodan Praljack who was a Commander of Croat Forces in Bosnia. He was sentenced in 2013 to 20-years in prison for war crimes and was appealing his case before the International Court. The court dismissed his appeal; he expected the ruling; took a small brown bottle from his pocket and tooka cocktail of poison on Wednesday November 28th, 2017. He died 2 hours later. I must say Slobodan was the UGLIEST MAN I have ever seen….
I think prisoners should have all options available to them, including the cat.

Barbados prison life is way too hospitable there should be cell blocks designated for repeat offenders and for violent crimes only.
