Hennessy Artistry 2017 a hit with fans

Thousands of patrons attended last night’s Hennessy Artistry 2017 concert spectacular.

The event featured crowd moving performances from Tory Lanez, Movado and Sizzla at the Kensington Oval venue.

A special highlight came with loud cheers from the crowd when host Vayne and Peter Coppin mentioned Barbadian international superstar Rihanna was in the audience.

Reggae legend Beres Hammond stole the show with an electrifying performance. He rendered hits from I Feel Good and Rockaway to Can You Play Some More and Can’t Stop a Man.

A local cast of soca stars Nikita, Fadda Fox and Lil Rick took the stage first, commencing the show at 10:05 p.m. (JS)

Even though I wasn’t at last night’s Hennessy Artistry show, I must big up Uncle Beres Hammond for having enough staying power to mash up Kensington Oval.
Nothing you can do to stop this veteran from trying.
    Absolutely nothing. No!

That’s the only way you can get bajans ( black bajans ) to come together to do anything , throw a “big fete ” or a “‘ wuk up ” in de streets and they’ll be there en force. In this way the politicians know that the idiots will for a very long time forget all about :

    (a) High crime rates
    (b) Tanking economy
    (c) Lousy health care
    (d) Rising taxes
    (e) Dangerous highways
    (f) Government corruption

Meanwhile the wholesalers / retailers , phone companies and car dealerships are daily sucking money away from what King Dyal used to call the ” black cattle “.

Now tomorrow the bajan media will tell them all that :

    (a) “buh”bados is the prettiest and best country in the world
    (b) This tourist season will be the best ever
    (c) 5 cruise ships will be in harbor every day
    (d) visitor arrivals are up
    (e) crop ovuh and kadooment plans for next year are coming along great
    (f) Don’t forget to shop in Swan St. and Broad Street this Sarduh ( Saturday ) coming

    (g) “buh”bados has the world’s No.1 entertainer ( which is definitely true , hats of to the lady she is one of my top 10 admirees)

To the sound engineers have your mids projected and be more upfront and clean like when beres was singing I couldn’t really hear his words clear just alot of bass I couldn’t tell but I believe u were using vertical array systems so u shouldnt have had an issue hearing vocals clean and good at all …last year was perfect tho

Show was a farce. They messed up the sound a second year running and had people leaving during Movado’s performance.

People support this show with their hard earned money and get sub par production quality that hamstrings the experience and enjoyment of the well patronized event.

    Fas7 needs to do better.

As usual people will be spending like crazy this xmas. And mostly working class people. The private sector will smile their way to the bank even though they claim that the NSRL is causing businesses to close down. They will of course be saying that that things are slow up to the 20th Dec 2017. Bunch of hypocrites.

A friend of mind in New York cuss me in the phone telling me the bajans at home living better than she bin Brooklyn. I ask how so,? She said that them got new car’s and nice clothes and money to party. She went in to say how she only working to pay rent and buy food. I visited Barbados in 2015,16 and 2017. Yes I Saw the new car’s and the nice clothes.also saw a lot of poor people begging too. the younger one selling themselves for party money. It’s a sad saturation to see these people here posting this nonsense when in a couple of years when the party years or over and them become older with nothing to show for there time on Earth. Then they will be on the front page of the Barbados news paper asking for help. Keep it up barbadian. I live in America. Wunna can’t beg me.

@Sharon Ellis, I would think that you are well off and enjoying you life like the politicians, but the less fortunate is to be bullied into poverty.

@milli watt, are you a national living overseas or are you a political associate. Tell the public what is all the tax measures that Chris introduce is doing to or for the country.

@Saga Boy, behave like you are a Barbadian living in Barbados. You know that Christmas falls on the same date in the same month every year, people save for that occasion. So I do not understand your statement. The government is not a merchant so you cannot buy from them and if the people do not spend money, how will the government benefit.

” A friend of mind in New York cuss me in the phone telling me the bajans at home living better than she bin Brooklyn. I ask how so,? She said that them got new car’s and nice clothes and money to party ”

Ossie Moore : Hi bajan USA , your friend of course has to be a black bajan woman and she definitely is a ‘ salt rock , flying fish mentality , 2 x 4 piece of rock “moron.

How many “white bajans ” do you see in “buh”bados ( Barbados) “wuking up en de streets ” and at every “big fete” pon de island every sarduh and sundee nite ( Saturday and Sunday night ) ?

Ask you stupid moron friend to show you her friends’s bank accounts and then compare it to the white bajans bank account to see who are the most intelligent folks.

I have never seen a white bajan in Christ Church or St. James living in a board and shingle house with galvanized roof.
