Gov’t announces increase in petroleum prices

Barbadians will have to pay more for gasoline, diesel and kerosene from midnight tonight.

The new price of gasoline will be $3.27 per litre, up from $3.19, an increase of eight cents. The price of diesel will move from $2.52 per litre to $2.58 per litre while kerosene will now cost $ 1.34 per litre, up from $1.26. These represent increases of six cents and eight cents respectively.

These price adjustments are in keeping with Government’s policy of allowing retail prices to be reflective of those on the international market.

Rishona Graham it’s not new just these days it’s more obvious and accepted as nobody is stopping it. The greed train keeps on going as people suffer hardships that are not their fault. Govt was voted in a second time and what have they done? In the entire two terms? Blamed borrowed spent and sold us out! They have dragged this country down and they are not finished yet. Hope to God they don’t get in again.

I gwine be glad when the BLP get in and stop this nonsense. It is better to hold the cost of the gas at a steady price and recoup when the price fluctuates either up or down. How it works is that you have a fixed price if the price of oil goes down the price at the pump remains fixed so that when the price goes up on the world market, it compensates.

Reading the comments above lead me to conclude that some of you are ignorant of current happenings in the world economy. You rely on being fed information by promoters of the crooked Barbados Labour Party. OPEC is grappling with itself trying to screw the world again withe raising the price of crude. The fluctuations you see in Barbados are as a result of the outside fluctuations under OPEC. Trindad has stopped subsidizing gas prices and that country produced oil. When I listen to the call-in-shows,Barbados produces Economists; Prime Ministers; Ministers of Finance; and Central Band Governors all of whom seem to be experts. They have the answers to everything under the sun putting those who legitimately hold the offices to shame….those persons are dumb. Alot of these people are only good at running their mouths, which are in competition with the annuses in terms of what comes out.

All the screaming and shouting and cussing , doesn’t matter to our politicians , because they just cannot manage (Barbados LTD)….. They cannot put anything right ….This is no different than running harry s rum shop …. Our people need to determine if they really need change not just to talk about change……..
I am worried that the black masses in Barbados have no control over the politicians , to think how could politicians be remove from office as if this government wins the next election , what the hell would bajans do , the ones who really care…………

Its a good thing Ali Baba- who loves cursing alot- and Deborah King, only have one vote. So too for many of the non-thinkers on this site. Ali Baba even said that gas /oil prices around the world have settled. That tells me the level of his ability to read and or listen and understand. Now to you Luther Thorne, I strongly support your hunger strike. I just hope your shrunk backside does not show up at the QEH. Your crooked party would not miss your vote, since it would be wasted anyway. I have already told you emphatically “The DEMS WILL WIN AGAIN”. Mark my words. People are NOT stupid. The records of their crooked deeds are all in yesteryears newspapers, blogs like Barbados Underground and the defunct Barbados Free Press and other social media. That is if you want to face the glare of Barbados Labour Party crookery and corupption.

As far as the next elections go
The Dems will win again surely if they do like the lotteries people .

    With respect to Petroleum prices
They said the cost at the pump was due to Cost Insurance Freight when the price of oil went low on the world market and this was used to justify them not reducing the price at the pump. Now I am hearing something different. Slaves can be told anything. Knowledge is power so if you keep the Knowledge from them you can keep them enslaved.
