Kendal Hill proprietor shot

A 62-year-old businessman is nursing a gunshot injury to his right shoulder following a shooting incident early this morning at Kendal Hill, Christ Church.

The victim, Coaston Payne, is the proprietor of a small retail shop which is attached to his Kendal Hill dwelling.

Police say sometime after 4 a.m. Wednesday, he encountered an unknown man, who had broken into his residence.

During the confrontation that ensued, the assailant fired a shot at Payne before fleeing the scene.

Payne was transported to the state-run Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private motor vehicle for medical attention.

Anyone with information that can assist with this investigation is asked to contact the Oistins Police Station at 418-2609, or 418-2612; Crime Stoppers at 1800–TIPS (8477); or the nearest police station.

Police say all information received will be treated as strictly confidential.

    This is close to home, my friend’s brother , He is a lucky , lucky man ….. Hope they catch the so and so asap ,this frightens me as I am planning to move to Barbados in the new year…………

    These gun toating men in Barbados seem to know when the Royal Barbados Police patrol is out of vacinity. The Christ Church Police stations need to go to Level 2 or 3 in their nightly operations! That side of towm seem to be infested with shootings!
