Carrington placed on a year’s bond for drugs

A 26-year-old man, who said he was planning to sell $1,500 worth of cannabis that was found in his home earlier today to pay for an unspecified medical procedure, has been ordered to stay clean for the next year.

If Romero Kemar Carrington, of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St Michael, breaches the bond imposed by Magistrate Douglas Frederick, he will have to spend three months at HMP Dodds.

Twelve cannabis plants were found in Carrington’s backyard and another 14 hanging on a line in his bedroom after police executed a search warrant at his home earlier today. Loose quantities of the illicit substance were also found in a paper bag on the bedroom floor and on a chest of drawers.

No conviction will be recorded against the first-time offender if he stays out of trouble for the next 12 months.
