Cashier caught with money

A 23-year-old cashier, who stole $295 from her workplace, has been ordered to perform 180 hours of community service.

Kadeja Michelle Maynard of Block 3B, St Matthias Housing Area, St Matthias, Christ Church admitted to stealing the money from Mmm I Like I Like Incorporated on October 12.

Sergeant Cameron Gibbons said the owner of the business realized that the money was “turning up short”. A review of the cameras showed the accused taking the cash and placing it under the cash pan without issuing any receipts.

The matter was reported to police and Maynard confessed to committing the act. According to the prosecutor, she also handed over a sum of money, which was hidden in her sock.

“I do apologize for what I have done,” Maynard told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today.

The woman, who was represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson, was granted $3,000 bail. She returns to court on December 8 to give an update of her service.

In the meantime, she has been warned to stay away from her former place of work.

She gets community service for stealing, but that junkie for loitering on the biscuit company premises gets nine months.
Is it because the junkie is a man and Cuffy has problem with black men?

I agree that we need justice that is consistent and reasonable. Perhaps the junkie man has a long history and several failed attempts have already been made to change him.

As RPB sang that a former Commish of police said that his hands are tied so he can`t hold the big fish, what about those million dollar brief case fellas? The poor girl probably don`t make $295 per week, why call the police?

Whitehill, my exact thoughts…The poor addict knew of a place where he could score a meal. The dumpster with discarded biscuits headed for the dump…value less, no longer needed..he stole…so nine months for stealing discarded food and community service for robbery.
