Flood warning in effect

The combination of an upper-level trough and an easterly wave has been generating some pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across the island. This activity is likely to intensify within the next hour.

As a consequence a flood warning is now in effect for Barbados until 4 p.m. today.

Additional rainfall accumulations of up to 50 – 75 mm {2 – 3 inches} are likely.

Residents in flood prone areas should exercise caution and remain on the alert.

A flood warning means that some flooding is already occurring or is imminent. This warning will be updated as necessary.
