Man accused of threatening a pregnant woman

A 34-year-old man, who is alleged to have issued threatening words to a pregnant woman, has been warned to stay far away from her.

Mormon Mormoninhah Scantlebury of Pounders Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael  allegedly told Natasha Bascombe-Bootman on September 20, “I gine down town and come back and juck [something] in your belly” which caused her to believe that unlawful violence would be used against her.

However, the accused man, who appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, pleaded not guilty of the offence.

Scantlebury, who was also warned to stay away from Bascombe-Bootman’s workplace was released on $1,500 bail.

He returns to court on February 1, 2018.
