Elderly man struck and killed by a minibus

Police are investigating a road fatality which occurred sometime around 10:20 p.m. last night along St Martins Road, St Philip, at its junction with Harlington Road.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a 68-year-old St Michael man was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a minibus. He suffered injuries to his head and was rushed by ambulance to the state-run Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Lawmen are asking anyone with information that can assist them with their investigations to contact the District ‘C’ Police Station at telephone numbers 416-8200 or 416-8201.

    @Margaret Brathwaite: Per Merriam Webster, the definitions of “elderly” include:
    1. rather old; especially :being past middle age
    2. of, relating to, or characteristic of later life or elderly persons
