Another man held for Kadooment Day shooting

Another St Michael man has been held in connection with the Kadooment Day shooting which claimed the life of 20-year-old Taried Rock and left several other people injured.

Twenty-one-year-old Tosharo Ricardo Rouse of Murphy’s Pasture, Chapman Lane was today remanded to  HMP Dodds until October 18, after appearing before Magistrate Douglas Frederick accused of discharging a firearm on the Spring Garden Highway on August 7 in a manner that placed 23 people in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

Rouse, who is also accused of using unlawful violence which caused Barry Marshall to fear for his personal safety, was not required to plead to any of the offences.

Four other St Michael men – 17-year-old Diego Reyshawn Wilson, of Spencer’s Gap, Baxters Road; 17-year-old Elijah Copeland of Chase Gap, Halls Road; 17-year-old Raheem Grimes of Chadderton Road, Carrington Village; and 22-year-old Tristan Alleyne of Westbury Road appeared before the courts recently and are currently on remand for the same offences.

Keep them away for ever. They almost killed 20 people. All now a lot of visitors will not be coming back to BARBADOS for CROP OVER because of that shooting.

These young men must stop wasting their lives. What is there that’s worth killing for? Let me tell them, absolutely nothing.

Hope the courts ensure he and any shooter found guilty are off the streets forever behind bars. These young rebels without a cause have a laser focus on drugs and guns. They are more dangerous to the island than a hurricane. Civil society must confront them and punish them severely.

Surely the economy is a major issue and so, it should be in the coming election ! But the justice system and crime, especially murder and capital punishment, must be discussed ! Let there be a referendum on capital punishment !
