Schools closed

The Ministry of Education has advised that all educational institutions including the Barbados Community College, the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic, all nurseries and the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College will be remain closed today, Tuesday September 19, 2017.
Chief Education Officer Karen Best has advised all private schools to remain closed.

    Some people waking up late and reading this would now be telling themselves why wait until now to say that ?
    I heard that notice just after 7.00 this morning the time I woke up ‘This is the year 2017 and in the MOST ACTIVE part of the Hurricane Season yet some people REFUSED to listen to the OFFICIAL weather forecasts and information coming out the Met Office but prefer to lambaste people and criticize this and that when things happen.
    Can you imagine yesterday someone saying that there was no need to close down the Island yesterday when every other person knew that the Island WAS NOT SHUT DOWN and someone saying that it was a bit too late to extend the flood watch not knowing the conditions for implementing such

    Cannot please everybody. I prefer my child to be home than to be out there battling with those conditions, I myself aint even went out to battle them.
