Musical cop promoted

Former Assistant Superintendent of Police Andrew Lynch has been appointed Superintendent and Deputy Director of Music in the Royal Barbados Police Force Band.

He received his instruments of appointment from Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith during an official ceremony at Police Headquarters on Tuesday.

Lynch, who joined the police band on July 1, 1997, was later promoted to police constable on November 2, 1981 and has been moving up the ranks ever since.

He was promoted to Station Sergeant in March, 2008 and subsequently started the Junior Dance Band.

He acted as Inspector from January 2012 to June 2014 before moving up to Assistant Director of Music on January 1, 2015. From October 1 last year he has been acting as Superintendent and Deputy Director of Music.

      Alvin he join the band in 1997
      but he was with the force since 1981
      what about to don’t match .

      Nothing wrong with the dates. He joined the Police Band in 1997, but would have been a Constable when he left training school in 1981

    He couldn’t have joined the band in 1997 and be later promoted in 1981 Nisha.

    That should read 1977.

    he joined the band in 77 as a bandsman and was promoted to constable in 81.

      I am happy Nisha and I went to the same school because you like you went in August.If he join he band in 1977 he would would have made history, because he would have been still in secondary school, .
