The demise of WI cricket is bad for the game as a whole. Perhaps symptomatic of the tendency to look to the USA for influence? Who knows? Whatever the reason the world of cricket needs a strong WI side to bring back the flair and competitiveness.

Dream on John. WI needs international cricket, not vice versa. WI flair is nostalgic ideal. You Can let go of the past, as the world has done so. T20 cricket shows the new flair dominating global cricket, and those T20 styles are now used in test cricket. Your comment is merely a sad excuse for weak management of the game in caribbean, or its a merely attempt to deny reality. Cricket is no played on the basis of nostalgia. U are as good as your last game

My comment was merely to ask the questions Byrone, and it seems to have prompted some interesting views on the state of the WI game! I agree that the WI involvement is essential, but if they are not competitive how is it sustainable? I think everyone wants the answers to how WI cricket can get back to where it was…

Thats not a WI team. Its a Barbados team. England beat Barbados. Lol. The xenophobic nature of the selection panel makes it impossible to see better players across the Caribbean. Joel Garner was on sky sports talking about the strength of the team, but he was imagining the old WI team of the 1970s and 1980s. Lol. Then after the defeat, the Barbados captain says, its a ‘young’ team. That phrase has been used to describe the team since 1998 to now. Shameful, idiots. The Other excuse, oh, caribbean only interested in T20. Lie. West Indies management kill the team, now their back against the wall, they announced ‘player amnesty’. Look at the chain of selectors and management behaviour since 1994.

Also when they do well we praise them, so when they do badly we need to rally around the team..not join with outsiders and talk …sh…..and insulting Bajans. How is that going to help..@ David Hugh..my pot dont cook at you so I dont care what your opinions of Bajans are. West Indian cricket set another record, no need to sugar coat it or find excuses, they set a record for the most test wickets lost in a single day, 19 shameless scalps. They have now been rated as the worst cricketing test team in the last 50 years and are now ridicule in the news (CNN sports) with Donald Trump (the worst US president ever), this is not “Fake News” but a reality that can no longer be ignored, tolerated or supported. BAD!
The WIBC threw cricketers (Brathwaite and Chase) into limited over cricket mix and wrecked their inability to change formats, their mind set is exclusively for extended (4 to 6 day) test cricket not hit the pitch running limited over white ball cricket, now they are screwed.
