Man accused of stealing diesel

A 59-year-old man who allegedly stole diesel from C.O Williams Limited was granted bail when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

Diamond Corner, St Peter resident Addison Romell Simmons is accused of stealing $55 worth of the commodity sometime between May 12 and 15.

The accused, who is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens, denied the charge and was released on $500 bail.

He was ordered to return before Magistrate Kristie
Cuffy-Sargeant on November 28.

    You are kidding me. I certainly understand the need for law and order, but this could/should have been settled outside the court system. $55 ????? And we wonder why some serious cases linger for years. …here is one that could have lingered….$55 ???….o know, it’s the principle ….smh
