Fishermen allegedly caught in drug net

Two fishermen who were allegedly caught with more than the day’s catch in the country’s territorial waters were each granted $25,000 bail when they appeared in court on drug charges earlier this week.

Tony Andrew Barrow of Oistins, Christ Church, and Clive Dacosta Wilson of Callenders, Christ Church, will reappear before Magistrate Elwood Watts on November 16.

The two are accused of possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking, and importation of $20,000 worth of cannabis.

The accused, who are both represented by attorney-at-law Marlon Gordon, denied all the charges.

As a condition of his bail, Barrow must report to the Oistins Police Station every Monday by 9 a.m., with valid identification. Wilson, meanwhile, has to sign in every Tuesday.
