Teen accused of stealing from visitor

A St Michael teenager who allegedly stole from a visitor was granted bail today when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

Nineteen-year-old Miguel Peter Nathaniel Mayers, of St Stephens Hill, Black Rock, is accused of stealing a purse, an iPhone and US$55 belonging to Hila Jazayeri.

Mayers, who was represented by attorney-at-law Dr Waldo Ramsay, denied the charge when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant this afternoon.

With no objections from prosecutor Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls, the teen was released on $1,600 bail and instructed to return to court on December 7.

DLP economics. Snatch a purse and content valued at $100 to $200, then pay a lawyer ,$5000 to $10,000 to get you off.
