Stiffy says thanks  

It doesn’t matter how many titles he has won, Shane Stiffy Star Quality Atkinson is always a winner in the eyes of countless Barbadians, especially his beloved supporters from his hometown of St Peter.

Continuing his celebrations after he seized the 2017 Bashment Soca crown, grabbed the 2017 Road Monarch title and placed second in the Stag Jam Tune with Tip And Ben OvaStiffy held a motorcade over the weekend to thank his supporters.

Sponsored by Brunswick Barbados and Banks Barbados Ltd, the motorcade started around 1 p.m., travelling from Speightstown to Barclays Park, St Andrew, Mile and A Quarter, St Peter. Blasting his 2017 hits, Tip and Ben Ova, Mavis and even his 2016 winning song, Tek Off Something, Stiffy had his supporters hyped and energized for the four-hour motorcade.

Curious onlookers stood outside their homes to dance and wave to the impromptu live performances. Some decided to join the festivities by jumping onto the trucks for the trek to the East Coast.

Surrounded by his family, friends and supporters, it was a jovial occasion for the man who made ‘Plug In To All’ a well-known phrase. Even as the motorcade parked in the East Coast road, the celebrations persisted with Stiffy’s music from throughout the years blaring from the speakers.

Stiffy was thankful for all that had transpired over the past three months during the Crop Over season.

“It is a good feeling to know that I won the  Road March and all my hard work paid off. We did our research, we did our homework, we touched base with a lot of people and made sure they were happy with the brand, and make sure that Stiffy Star Quality was relevant at every party, every fete,” he said.

“I can’t beg for nothing more because everyone has supportive.”

    Met him at his workplace some two or so yrs ago….talk about customer service…vry pleasant young man….
    Didn’t even realise that he was Stiffy back then…
