Man caught with ammunition remanded to Dodds

A St Michael man has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds on ammunition charges.

Twenty-eight-year-old Rasheed Omar Haynes, of 5th Avenue, Akins Land, Eagle Hall appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today for unlawful possession of 50 rounds of ammunition.

Haynes was arrested along Fontabelle, St Michael on Saturday.

He will reappear in court on September 11.

    These guys have to be made examples of by severely penalizing them. Heavy fines and significant prison time. It is the only way to curb some of this lawless gun violence that is currently ruining the reputation of our beautiful Island.
    Penalties that are meaningful should be of such severity that the fear of the penalty should alone act as a deterrent to anyone that would consider using a fire arm to commit any crime .
