Change of heart

Burglary accused pleads guilty

Nearly a year after he was accused of burglary, 44-year-old Peter Gardine Davidson Savoury of 1st Avenue Birds River, Deacons Road, St Michael has finally owned up to the charge.

Savoury had initially denied entering the home of Sylvester Gibson as a trespasser on September 10, 2015 and stealing two cellular phones worth US$500, US$5 in cash and BDS$20 belonging to the homeowner.

However, when the case resumed earlier this week before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, the accused man had a noticeable change of heart.

His bail in the amount of $3,000 was therefore revoked and he was sent up to HMP Dodds while a pre-sentencing report is carried out.

Savoury returns to court on September 5.
