Walcott gets two years for burglary and cocaine

A 28-year-old man was sentenced to two years in prison Monday, after pleading guilty to burglary and cocaine possession.

Delano Renaldo Walcott, of no fixed place of abode, appeared before Magistrate Elwood Watts in the Oistins Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of entering Aeon Bar as a trespasser and stealing $600 in cash, as well as cheese, two cartons of milk, one container of ice cream, cookies and four loafs of bread belonging to Omar Kennedy on July 17, 2017.

The accused also pleaded guilty to possession of an apparatus fit for the misuse of cocaine, as well as possession of the illegal drug.

Walcott was sentenced to two years in prison for burglary and three months for the cocaine offences. However, the sentences will run concurrently.
