I feel very sad for the man and sincerely hope he recovers soon. Not intending any blame whatsoever however I want to say that I do also wish that people would realise how hard they can be to see at night, especially wearing dark clothes, when they are walking along the road after dark. The roads are so dangerous, with bushes over growing the sides, few streetlights, not enough sidewalks. Drivers need to take extra care and slow down. Very sad to see someone get hurt.

A while ago I was driving just past St George Secondary school, just around 3.30 pm, when a male student deliberately chucked a female student right into the path of my vehicle. I took evasive action, but if another vehicle was coming from the opposite direction, it would have been a different matter.
