Pinelands man remanded for gun and ammunition charge

A 21-year-old man was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds on firearm and ammunition charges Thursday.

Darius Anthony Perch of 8 Maple Path, Regent Hill, Pinelands, St Michael was not required to plead to the indictable charges that on July 2, he had a firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition in his possession without a permit.

He was represented by attorney-at-law Arthur Holder when he appeared in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Criminal Court Thursday morning before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

Perch also faces three drug charges: possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and trafficking the illegal drug on July 18.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges.

The young man has been remanded to prison until August 17.

Natasha Scantlebury first off hand you can tell that you are an uneducated person, i don’t live in Barbados it’s people like you that have the country so crime riddim, they don’t know neither does you, you can see that you are one of those people that think having a gun make him a big man, now tell me why do you or any other person need a gun, wonder how much of the drugs that he had did you smoke, (feel sorry for people like you retards).

The criminal justice system in Barbados is too soft on crime. They should start hanging these thugs 3 perday that commit murder. If you are caught with a gun 25 years without parrole. If You are caught with drugs 15 to 20 years without parrole. When you finish your sentence deport to your country if you were not born in Barbados. Place they picture at each port of entry so they cannot return under a different name
