Visitor alleges sexual assault

Police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of a visitor to the island.

The Canadian woman, who is in her 20s, was reportedly lying on the beach close to her St Michael hotel when the incident occurred last night.

Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler confirmed that lawmen were probing the matter.

    They need to catch this person quick. When this hits the social media in Canada and elsewhere it paints a grim picture of Barbados. So pull out all the stops and catch him for the sake of us all.

    Really? I never saw that response with regards to the lady who got shot recently at the ATM. Is this a case of black and white. You tell me..

    “Probing”? Is this a deliberate choice of words? If so it is rather an insensitive choice, lacking empathy for the victim.
    @Leroy Paris, I saw nothing in the report to indicate the race of the alleged victim. Unless all Canadians are white, I think your comparison of these two unfortunate cases is morally inappropriate.
    @ jrsmith, you are spot on. All external ATMs should be covered by surveillance cameras. Fundamental I would have thought.
