Best denies making threats to kill woman

A 41 year-old Lower Burney, St Michael man was granted bail today after pleading not guilty to using threatening words to Deborah Phillips.

Ricardo Orlando Best, who appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, is accused of using language to Phillips on July 7, with intent to cause her to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against her.

“You got you hand in you bag. I got something bigger here. I got gun here and I know where you live. I would wait around the house and kill you and yuh b*****g husband,” he allegedly said.

Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls had no objection to his release, and Best was therefore granted $5,000 bail with one surety.
