Finalists named for Junior Monarch competition

After more than four hours of grueling competition in the semi-final round at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford last evening, the finalists were chosen for the 2017 Scotiabank Junior Monarch Competition.
With strong performances in both the 7-12 and 13-18 categories, the judges had a hard time choosing the seven to go forward to the July 22 final at Kensington Oval.
In the 7-12 category, Browne Star and his brother, first timer De Rock, will be vying for the crown. So too will be Master Kei who stole the hearts of those in the audience with his charisma.
The full list of the 7-12 finalists are:  KCB, Mighty BallerinaBrowne Star, Hannah GlowMaster KeiMhizz Kibba and De Rock. They will be hoping to dethrone reigning monarch Summa.

The reserves are 7 Star and SanShe.
In the 13-18 category, three first-time finalists will be hoping to go all the way and take the title. They are: Lady Nica, a crowd favourite; Miracle; and Mr Personality, who is the son of calypsonian Donella.
Former monarch Ranaan is also through to the finals, so too is Sparkle T, who is in her final year of the junior competition.

    I take it that the BAJAN flag is at the “BACK” of her clothing.
