Wounding accused gets bail and warning

A 64-year-old wounding accused has been warned to stay away from his alleged victim, as a condition of his bail release.

Deolall John of Gunsite Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael was given the warning after appearing in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court recently, on a charge of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Dave Leon on June 19.

The electronic technician denied the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

With no objections to bail from the police prosecutor, John was released on $8,000 bail.

In another case, Rienando Winslow Bascombe denied unlawfully assaulting Ronisha Wilkinson on June 3 and was granted $2,000 bail.

The 21-year-old landscaper from Stevenson Land, Kew Road, St Michael returns before Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant on September 12.

Meantime, Kenrick Richard King, of Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, walked out of the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court free of an assault charge.

The well digger appeared before Cuffy-Sergeant Thursday, charged with unlawfully assaulting Adonna Boyce on June 9.

However, the complainant informed the magistrate that she was no longer interested in continuing with the case.

The magistrate therefore dismissed the matter.

King was only allowed to leave the court after $200 in costs had been paid.
