Accused Lester Vaughan student gets bail

The 15-year-old female Lester Vaughan School student who was remanded to the Government Industrial School last Thursday in connection with the May 17 beating of another student, was today granted bail when she appeared in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrate Ian Weekes granted $500 bail with one surety to the teen who pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
As part of her bail conditions, the offender will have to stick to a 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew Mondays to Fridays, and also be on curfew all weekend.
She will return to the District ‘D’ court on August 10, 2017.
Eight other students have been charged in the incident.
