Messenger steals from Fertility Centre

A 65-year-old messenger appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday, accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his employer.

It is alleged that Grantley St Clair Nurse, of Skeete’s Road, Jackmans, St Michael stole US$19,641 from the Barbados Fertility Centre and then another US$4,950 from the same business sometime between May 23 and 30.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charges when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick yesterday.

There was no objection to bail from the police prosecutor Sergeant Martin Rock, who simply requested that conditions be imposed on the accused.

The prosecutor’s request was granted and Nurse, who was released on $10,000 bail with one surety, had to hand over his passport to the court before he was allowed to go.

He must also report to the District ‘A’ Police Station every Wednesday before 10 a.m., with valid identification.

Nurse has been ordered to make his second appearance before Magistrate Frederick on September 13.

Ingrate. Idiot. Stupidity and greed defined. At 65 where is his next job? Yes, innocent until proved otherwise. Only BB$50K gone missing from a new and welcome business, earning us precious F/X, and now a body-blow to it.
When will we see the light?

Mr. Webster, if you can appreciate the man is innocent until proven otherwise why carry on with your silly remarks?
Let me define ingrate, idiot ,stupidity and greed…Your present Prime minister.
Who but an idiot would take delivery of a $700k automobile when we need that precious F/X?
Who but an ingrate after begging the people for a job would reinstate his 10% knowing full well most of us are catching hell?I can tell you about greed but this paper wouldn’t print my comments like it did a few others, suffice to say, it seems like Bernie Madoff is their accountant given their acquisitions during their time in office.

This is sad, because at his age, he has lost any other chances at obtaining a job.
Probaly hard times really caught up with him.

    It’s going to be worse.

Maybe it’s time for “electronic transactions” only. Wow a lot of cash to be moving about with in BIM in these times. Sounds like a “pay roll”.
    SAD, SAD, SAD.
