Barbados, we have a problem. We are losing too many of our very young men to gun violence , and that highly paid AG doesn’t seem to have a clue how to stop the flow of guns into 2×4 Barbados. I hope that whichever party (Lord, not this one) wins the election realize that these aimless young people cannot be ignored.

No guns should be allowed on the island except for the defence force or competitive shooters who represent the island in competition and thise guns should be held under lock and key.
For many years the only thing you had to worry about is get cut by a Collins, stabbed or hit wid a stick. And BIM was the better for it , back then people fought with their hands, these gunman dem sorry rasbwoy dem dun made good people get gun to protect dem life.
Blame the FECKLESS ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR NOT MEKN DEM PAY DEARLY. He playing round wid good people life.
That should be a major issue for BIM to ask the BLP about their plans to tackle illegal guns.
If MIA MOTTLEY cant articulate a cogent message and plan to get rid ah dem gun bwoy dont vote fa she and im a BLP supporter saying dis.
Force dem to talk bout it and the economy along wid jobs should be the# 3 most important isssues to be bantered about during the campaign season!
Enlist other mothers and people who scared for their kids and dem life.
You all have the power to stop the madness organize hold viduals, meetings and rallies picket the ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE MAKE DEM HEAR UNAH show the true BAJAN spirit that makes us the gem of the west indies.

The root cause of many of these shootings, killings, and robberies has a connection to drugs. Our young people are killing each other over drug deals gone wrong,or territorial rights.
Barbados is so small that one has to believe that the Police and or Defense Forces should and would have a good sense of where many of the drug infested communities are,and some knowledge of the people that are chief offenders/suppliers.
when Police do raid these Communities ,it does seem that even when there is a drug bust more often than not, there are no arrest. This seem due to be a lack of poor Policing.Or Maybe a result of poor undercover work, or a lack of the same . To someone observing from the outside one might might that maybe, just maybe the drug lord was notified of an intended raid. Why can’t the Police use undercover Cops like the FBI, RCMP, KGB,and Scotland Yard do .Moles; Don’t our Enforcement heads use common basic intrusive practices to apprehend these drug lords and gun slingers that are ruining everything for everyone, and causing Barbados to lose its reputation as one of the most loved and safest countries in the Western Hemishere?

Ladies and gentlemen we are losing Barbados quickly and something must be done urgently before it is too late.
Barbados crime situation can be address in lest than a year if the leaders really want change.

1)Develop a program that can employ about 2,000 men between the ages of 18 and 30 years in manufacturing, agriculture etc that can pay a minimum wage of 1600 with and incentive that can take their salaries up to 3,500 per month according to out put(commission). This will be Public and Private sector partnership subsidize by Government years with the plan of breaking even in three years.
    2) A lot a 100 aces of land to Dodds prison to be farmed by all healthy prisoners on a rotating plan.
3)Establish a gun amnesty for 30 days for all illegal guns to be turn over to the Barbados Defense Force .
    4) Set a ten years minimum sentencing for all persons found with an illegal gun plus additional time for the crime committed.
All gun crimes must be tried in ninety days

5)Make the Youth Service compulsory for any child Girl or Boy breaking the law it does not matter how small the crime. Whenever you are of age you must attend.

Re train The Police Force yearly on how to interact with the public with integrity, transparency and friendly while firmly upholding the law

    Just a few ideas

Was just reading the comments and said I’ll keep my mouth shut but here goes, Why is it that it’s a surprise to us the way the kids are reaching out, (violence) We didn’t want to live under the European flag but we accept the American culture, Our kids have rights now, they have time outs, they have technology, they have anger, when we as adults want the best for our kids and give them brand names bags to carry school just because everyone is doing it, clothes, shoes devices, we did this, we gave them the things we didn’t have, they don’t know to write a letter, they sit next to one another and text, can’t have a civil conversation, can’t identify they feelings, they are lost, we did it, the teachers can’t even speak to them without being disrespected, we can’t control them but want the schools to, I never cuss or disrespected an elder when I was young, may have spoken in my throat but not out loud, they don’t get up no more to give the elderly a seat, they look you in the face on mornings and don’t speak, it’s a different breed of humans now, everything is about money, clothes, music, drugs and living fast, they adopted the AMERICANS WAY OF LIVING, THE LAND OF THE FREE THEY SAY, DREAMS COME TRUE, I’ve always the HATIANS, through it all they were the only ones who weren’t enslave by the white man’s hand, And Castro they said was a wicked man but I say he was a GREAT MAN, he did it his way for his ungrateful people who like us brains are still in chains, We can’t think for ourselves,we no longer need a whip, we ourselves have imprisoned our kids, we should have let them know they HISTORY, learn about our past and where we came from as a race, to love our selves, skin, colours, hair and everything else that make us unique, we can take the Sun, cold, water and heat, we were born from kings and queens, only then will our kids be better leaders and not adopt a style from a system that was never build to protect us but only to destroy us

How come 2 out of 3 had Muslim names? What’s wrong witg these mothers?

If you born into a muslim family thats one thing but if not why give your child a name that is going to demonize them when applying for jobs.
