PM’S new ride

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has a brand new ride.

Amid all the talk about austerity, Stuart is now driving around in a sleek S-Class Mercedes Benz, fresh out of the Simpson Motors showroom at Warrens.

The S-Class is said to be valued at $350,000 duty free or over $700,000 inclusive of duties.

The reason people are getting on is because the country is broke, his government just put crushing taxes on an already overtaxed population daybefore and they recently increased their own already high salaries by 10%, you’re not from here so maybe you don’t know what’s going on

Buy a new ride and would not give the Accountant General some more staff to audit scrupulous behaviour . BRA no controls end up with steal in there. Time to go Frendel

  21. Paula June 3, 2017 at 7:13 am

Even if he bought it from his own money, this is not the time to be buying a brand new, expensive car like that when your country is suffering!!!!!!

  22. Bajan First June 3, 2017 at 7:17 am

I will expect the new government to sell all of the high class vehicles are ride on the zr you fools. Look and see how many already drive BMWs and other high end vehicles! Nothing will change other than those who reap the sweets. The poor will continue to suffer for many years to come. I can already hear the excuses! We knew things were bad but we dI’d not know that they were this bad …. Sorry but you poor people gine have to continue to suck salt while we take the opportunity to take care of ourselves and our benefactors. The more things change the more they remain the same. The good thing is, no one person will have to bear the disappointment, there will be enough to go around.

  23. George June 3, 2017 at 7:20 am

Enjoy your new big ride PM it will only last for a few months.I will still be catching bus after May 2018.

T the horse but tell all of them enjoy it now but I may not be around but I sure if Bajans are not liquish they would get out on that day and help the cou try get rid of the jockey so that the horse can live a lot longer and try to win some race

  28. Merlene June 3, 2017 at 8:22 am

So wrong, they own people and businesses and got this country at its knees and he bout the place buying a 700 thousand dollar vehicle. We need to march until we get them out of parliament. This is bare nonsense. What people fail to realize is that they don’t care anything about us.

  29. BimJim June 3, 2017 at 8:34 am

This is the very best thing Dumble could do if he wants to lose the next election is to have the taxpayer find another $700,000 for his new car. Even the yard fowls must be looking up from their corn-pecking in the dust to wonder how soon Farmer Fumble will run them down in his new ride.

The nation 12 Billion in debt, but Crumble needs a car. It is obvious that THIS administration – like the one before it – “serve the people” only at their own pleasure.

It is past time the people serve both the DLP and BLP politicians a meal of manure pie, sawdust and cow-pee at the next elections.

  30. Elfreda June 3, 2017 at 8:36 am

He is going out in style couple more months and he is gone new government

  32. Sylvan Greenidge June 3, 2017 at 9:03 am

MP2 is the state’s car not the personal car of Mr. Stuart and it replaced every couple years as a standard arrangement. He has absolutely no control over that.

  33. Fullmoon June 3, 2017 at 10:53 am

Be smart people the car is for the office so when Mia gets in it would be hers to used.
And its duty free so it cost less than some toyotas.

  34. Tessa Chaderton-Shaw June 3, 2017 at 10:58 am

Simply nauseating and insulting to all Barbadians.

  35. Bobo June 3, 2017 at 1:59 pm

F Stuart a Mercedes lover –before becoming ”Barbados Disaster Prime Minister” what type of car he was driving?

He and Mia Mottley a disgrace to humanity. 350.000 bds can upgrade the Education Curriculum–

Folks your ”Rights” –When any Political party lost election—All official cars has to remain in Government control

  38. bajans June 3, 2017 at 7:40 pm

In Canada a cabinet minister cannot spend more than $32K on an official car. Some don’t even take the car and chauffeur and prefer to ride their bikes to and from the Hill. It has to be a Canadian made car from Windsor or Oshawa, Ontario. No imports.

  39. Sheryl Smith June 3, 2017 at 7:41 pm

More horse power needed to suit our roads.

  40. Claudia June 4, 2017 at 12:52 am

The Pen is mightier than the sword. Your Vote can do a lot of damage. Don’t let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. Go and vote.

  41. Babs Lewis June 4, 2017 at 7:34 am

Oh my people. It’s a mere inconvenience…… something like those lil ole potholes. It’s a fine story to tell those return vacation Canadians at one of his costly cocktail soirees. A little joke to share with them so they can laugh at us more. Then he’ll beg them to come again and bring their money. He may even offer them a FREE ride in his new wheels no Bajans welcome. Not to worry Barbados…. our Ministers are ok. Now isn’t that something positive. NO! I SAY SHAME. Boooooooooooooooo Booo Boo.

  42. Kemal Harvey-Bowen June 4, 2017 at 10:28 am

He aint going to help no one better themselves but he can spend near a half million on a mercadies benz smh black people ….worst than de slaves who were taken from africa this frundel making trump look like a genius

  43. fancyfree734 June 4, 2017 at 5:01 pm

Fact(s) is Freundel and Chris telling stories Oh what a story to be told come next election, freundel gone Chris stays

  44. Concerned Bajan June 4, 2017 at 5:59 pm

It is time that Barbadians wake up and realise that politicians who care about people became extinct when Barrow die. The new generation of politicians are only interested in what they can get at the expense of the foolish voters. Wake Barbadians. Wake up!

  45. Mac10 June 6, 2017 at 7:13 am

And when he gets kicked out of next year, he’ll keep the car & the new PM will buy another equally expensive tax payer funded ride. Expect other MP’s to do the same before the election.

What would of been more appropriate would be to have instigated a party wide policy by purchasing an electric vehicle to promote Environment Awareness & protection.

  46. Jea Alleyne June 6, 2017 at 9:32 am

There is no point in a tax system…….. over the past 10 years can someone list the improvements to the environment?????

  47. Jea Alleyne June 6, 2017 at 9:32 am

Sorry, lets list the improvements over the past 25 years ?

  48. Felicia Corbin June 6, 2017 at 1:28 pm

That is not a new car

  49. Menace II Babylon June 7, 2017 at 10:33 am

He can get with Simpson and bring legislation to stop poor man from bringing in cars and hit vehicles. As their sales down. Idren took his range (sports) to be serviced under warranty and for evaluation and you know those crooks devalued it so greatly and said they can’t service it under the warranty. They can service it if he pays?

Ummmmm warranty? If it ain’t come from them they have nothing to do with it. Only in Bim. Any dealer any part of the world you can take your vehicle and hey presto stamp and delivered, Further investigation revealed that they are not registered dealers which came from the top, wow….had all we fooled. So a pure recon them ah pree and sell for lotto money. They said they can fix it as they have the technology due to diagnostics and such but he has to pay, blatant refusal to honour the warranty. Susuki of course but they are not Land Rover or jaguar dealers. Unless that’s changed. False advertising. Maybe they ironed the chinks out their armour but them ain’t no registered dealers. So you get with your drinking buddy to yet prevent poor people from etching a living in the recon market, watch this space. You are so right, probably not a new car but worth new car money. Only with threats of legal action, going to the press they bowed. Disgusting establishment. I will say it to all of you stop being a push over for these commercial conglomerics with the believe I poor and them rich. Use your poetic licence and the media carries more swag than we give it credit for.

Be careful, you can’t trade the devil for Satan

  50. Ras June 9, 2017 at 12:26 pm

Bree St.John had a better looking Mercedes Benz MP2 this one look dull and boring.

  51. chris June 11, 2017 at 9:56 am

This country is in a bad recession money is being vastly wasted firstly on that stage built at the garrison at a cost of !!!!!!! when roads are falling to bits. Add insult to injury for the govn to sanction the buying of THE CAR are they are another planet. Need people in govn who care what happens to this country and not users.
