Anything that alters the mind is a drug, however this is a natural drug. This is a drug which is a natural alternative to synthetic prescription drugs which are harmful.

It is time that Barbados develop a “seizure and confiscation” method, if you are a drug dealer and you are caught with such a large quantity of drugs/marijuana, your house and car should be seized and sold at auction. maybe this will deter some.

  12. G Jemmott May 31, 2017 at 11:58 am

I think that it is time for the Barbados government to implement a seizure/confiscation policy if there is not already one. if you are caught such a large quantity of illegal drugs, your house and car(s) should be seized and auctioned off.

Since the government taxing everything. Its time to make it legal and aloud the people that smoke weed to have no more that12 legal plants for personal use on there property. Issue them a permit or license to keep the plant’s each year. That will stop or slow down the imports of weed from other counties. You will gave to prove the you have smoking for at lease 10 years. We dont want the country to get the idea that every person can just walk up and get a license.

Sonia Lynch first they have to catch them. As far as I am aware no one has been charged as yet.

Tracy Brown!!!!!Maybe you Smoke it, but you sure as hell knows NOTHING about it.

    Tetrahydrocannabinol(THC)Is The Drug In Marijuana

Cannabis as a plant is scheduled by the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs (Schedule I and IV).

@Joy Waldron!!! The Simplest way is That the Drug Squads around the world, know how much an ounce it sells for on the Street, and it is then just Simple Maths to Calculate how many ounces are in this case 620.4 Lbs and then Multiply it out,Voila!!!

BTW!!! The Better the Quality (Higher the THC Levels) the Costlier the Product.

@G Jemmott!!!As far as i am aware, in Barbados that is already the Law, but like all other Laws in Barbados, There is an ENFORCEMENT Problem, for some OBVIOUS REASONS.

@Mr Rock usa!!! STOP IT!!! you are using Common Sense, perhaps you can transfer some of that Common Sense to our Esteemed Attorney General. Even the USA Federal Government is turning a Blind Eye to the Various States, who are reaping a Fortune from Legalised POT.

Barbados needs a modern, evidence based policy towards the recreational use of addictive substances, such as alcohol, ganja, tobacco and others. Such a policy should take account of the health dangers posed by the use of such substances, the rights of individuals to make informed choices about the substances they use and the possible effects that the use of such substances might have on others. Just ploughing down the same road without thinking about how attitudes in the world have changed makes no sense. We also need to think about the language we use when discussing these issues. Alcohol is also classified as a drug as it causes a physiological effect when taken but when was the last time you heard someone say he had drugs pon he when they mean a bottle of rum?

Joy if you went in town and every one was selling five pounds of sweet potatoes for ten dollars, wouldn’t that be the street value, that potatoes are two dollars a pound. The police uses that same method. You like you went to brumley high or what.
