Farrell told behave or be sent to jail

A Bridgetown Magistrate recently warned a 25-year-old man to be on his best behaviour for the next six months.

If Atiba Oneal Farrell of Brathwaite’s Gap, Hindsbury Road, St Michael breaches the court-imposed order, he will spend three months at HMP Dodds.

Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant imposed the bond on the unemployed man after he pleaded guilty to possession of apparatus for the misuse of cocaine.

The drug paraphernalia was found when police responded to a disturbance at Farrell’s home on May 26.

A search was requested of his person and a broken vial was found.

He told police: “Officer, you dun know what that for.”

Addressing the magistrate in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, Farrell made a plea for a fine to be imposed as punishment for his crime, saying he did not want to waste the court’s time. He told the court his father would be willing to pay the money.

However, the magistrate instead placed him on the bond.
