Hutson remanded on gun and ammo charges

A 42-year-old man Thursday began his first 28-day stint on remand at HMP Dodds on gun and ammunition charges.

Roger Ricardo Hutson of #115 Welches Terrace, St Thomas is accused of having a firearm in his possession without a valid licence, as well as possession of 16 rounds of ammunition without a valid licence on May 22.

He appeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes Thursday afternoon in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court where he was not required to plead to the indictable charges.

According to a release from police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Roland Cobbler, the weapon and ammunition were found after lawmen executed a search warrant at the accused man’s residence.

Hutson is expected to make his second appearance before the same magistrate on July 4.
