Two more students charged in Lester Vaughn school incident

Police have arrested and charged two more students, a male and a female with the offence of occasioning actual bodily harm in connection with a violent fight that left a female student of the Lester Vaughn Secondary School nursing serious injuries.

A video of the incident, which occurred last Wednesday, showed the victim being punched and kicked about the body as she laid on the ground.

The 14-year-old male and 16-year-old female were both charged today and are expected to appear in the District ‘D’ Magistrate Court on Thursday, May 25.

Another student, a 15-year-old female was charged yesterday for the same offence.

She will also appear in court on Thursday.

Are these children suspended from Lester Vaughn School? After all they have been charged with violent offences against the person in a public place. Word to the Principal. It’s a matter of liability and what is in the best interest of students and staff of the school.

Gail Agard Wallace Gail Agard Wallace, the video posted, very upsetting, the vagabonds set upon the child violently the girls took it turns kicking her in the head and body, a boy also kicked her. The clip showed where she’s nearly walked into on coming traffic and the vagabonds still continue the attack. We in the UK hope Justice is served.

I am very glad that I did not see the video. It is a shame that this is what our youths have become. Too much copying of North American ways. Commend the police for doing their job quickly. All of them should be charged, their parents made to cover all medical expenses now and future bills. Televised apology by all of them to the child, her family, the school and to all fellow Bajans for bringing shame to the nation. Depending on the severity of their actions jail time should be 6 months to a year with a permanent record. They have now made it hard for themselves to apply to live in another country. Shame on them and their parents.

Finally , they are now beginning to make some very smart decisions on the island of Barbados instead of doing things ass backward . . . . as usual.

To you smart lawyers out there here are some recommended additional charges that the family of the beaten up student can file:

    (a) Charge ( and sue ) the Lester Vaughn High School with negligence of not providing security for the student.

    (b) The Lester Vaughn H S should is liable and should pay all medical bills for the family.

    (c) All students invoked in the altercation should be arrested and charged with whatever the B’dos law is concerning the attack on the student.

    (d) The students involved should / will be given a criminal felony records and be expelled from school.

Get a good a great attorney from up here in North America to come down to B’dos and work with your Law firm on this case and the assaulted student’s family will end up owning the Lester Vaughn High School among other things.

The law better not show up itself to be an azz in this matter. The punishment must fit the crime. The homes of each should be investigated and where there is signs of brokeness, dysfunction, and abuse the parents of each must be brought to trial as well. No more darn fooling around with a lot of long talk.

The adults take democracy for granted and now the youths are doing the same. They need some of the punishment that is meted out in places like the middle east such as public whippings, and if the parents objects whip them to, because even though some children will do as they please regardless of their upbringing a great of parents are very poor and do not instill in their children the need to respect adults and those in authority.
