13-year-old girl missing

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Trenelle Ailani Byer of Gilkes Road, Hindsbury, St Michael.

She was last seen at home sometime around 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, by her father Andrew Byer. At the time she was wearing a dark blue spaghetti top, short cutoff jeans pants, and a pair of black Jordan slippers with the word Jordan printed in white.

It breaks my heart…once again a child is reported as ‘missing’. As a parent I can’t help but feel concerned over the safety of these young ones who disappear over the weekends and return shortly afterwards. Why?…While not being privy to the information relevant authorities would probably have, this situation should be investigated thoroughly and monitored before it results in a loss of life. Appeals are made for the public’s assistance, but many have preconceived notions about the circumstances relating to these young women. Alas my fear is that the public will eventually become immune to their plight!

Plight? That is why they leave and return, pregnant or with stds. . . . The system does not care. Never has and never will. The number of persons actually held accountable for these disappearances and reappearances are almost negligible. These young girls are too dumb to realize that they are destroying their lives and reputations before they can actually build a good one. The young men who indulge themselves with them get off scotch free. The parents exclaim how they don’t know what to do. But yet no one is being held to account for the negative change in our society. How many of our parents in the past did the same exact thing and yet the social care services and who’s who keep covering it up. I responded to your comment because people like you just want something to say. . . .yet what ARE YOU really don’t to curve or change the behaviour? Yes! In the event you ask ‘what am i doing?’ Everyday I work with the youth of this country through youth organisations to educate and reach them to curve that practice before it begins. . .

“Missing”, then as per usual we will get a report saying “traced” and the Police thanking the public for their support. I do believe the last “young Lady” that went missing was found so quickly , is because a PHOTO was published. I am quite sure there is one available of this person also.
The powers that be must group the females together and get the information out of them on the reason/cause that they keep the public on edge about their safety.
Lock-up some body or them in order to bring some sanity to this situation.
It cannot continue, just don’t sound right for an Island as small as Barbados. Parents need to deal with the AG / Police top Brass in bringing persons of interest to the Law courts.

It’s a terrible thing to say and I might be out of line but sometimes when I see that teens are missing and they are found the next day or two days later, I automatically think they are probably staying with a friend or their man.

It’s only natural to think that. I prefer them to be with their friend or man. But being with a man at 13??!!
