St Bartholomew’s netballers play unbeaten

St Bartholomew’s Primary came away unbeaten today in the ongoing Pine Hill Dairy-sponsored National Primary Schools Netball Competition played at King George V Memorial Park, St Philip.

There were four games played Friday in the Marva Sealy and Inez Taylor Zone and in addition to St Bartholomew’s, Hilda Skeene Primary and Reynold Weekes were also victorious against their respective opponents.

It was a close grab for the ball when St Bartholomew’s Primary (wearing blue and white) defeated Gordon Walters Primary.

During their opening match against Hilda Skeene, St Bartholomew’s led 5-0 at half time and finished the contest 8-0. Goal-attack of the victorious St Bartholomew’s Kianne Best netted a perfect score of seven from seven attempts and goal-shooter Treanna Cummins accounted for the other goal off her two attempts.

It was superb catches like these from St Bartholomew’s goal-attack Kianna Best that led them to victory over Gordon Walters Primary.

The score line against Gordon Walters Primary was not so large but St Bartholomew’s managed to come out on top 4-1 with goal-attack Best accounting for all four goals in the semi-circle. Nyesha Brathwaite-Richards shot the lone goal for her school.

Hilda Skeene were given a break to recover but it did not really help their cause much against St Catherine’s Primary as they played to a 1-1 draw. Scoring for Hilda Skeene was goal-attack Ronisha Harding and goal-shooter Arielle Harris for St Catherine’s.

Meanwhile in the final game, Reynold Weekes outplayed St Martin’s Mangrove 5-1. Goal-attack Azariah Browne put away four of eight attempts and goal-shooter Kashonna Clarke scored the other goal while St Martin’s goal-shooter Janisha Knight netted their lone goal.
