Teen faces gun and ammo charges

A 17-year-old St George resident got an automatic 28-day stay at HMP Dodds today after appearing in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on gun and ammunition charges.

Kadeem Obrian Clarke, of Johnson Road, Workman’s, appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy- Sargeant accused of having three rounds of ammunition in his possession yesterday, without a permit.

It alleged that the unemployed teen also had in his possession a firearm without a valid licence.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charges after they were read by the magistrate and was remanded to prison until June 12.

Wrong path, why at 17 years do he feel the need to be armed ,what kind of life style he is living, hope for his sake, during the time of his incarceration he take a good look at his life, and make some changes, before it is way too late.

This young man would have to be well known to the supplier of the gun and ammo. At the age of seventeen having such apparatus it would appear that maybe it’s his parent’s, maybe it was found, or maybe he is an agent of some organization within the country? Is this what our national anthem spells out? “Strict guardians of our heritage firm craftsmen of our fate”! He must have a good few acres, home and family to protect Well! Then those who are in that bracket don’t even carry their licensed fire arm on their person unless threatened to the extreme on their premises!

Why does he have to be a bad child on the wrong path?? Why cant he just be an aware teenager who knows what is going on in our nation and has done what most others are scared to do and arm himself as a precaution?? As the saying goes its better to have a gun and no need it than to need a gun and not have it! Just my 2 cents
