It was definitely a case of the headline not depicting the story, as two athletes hailing from the Straughn House dominated the day’s events from start to finish.

Da Clarke of Trotman House outclassed the field in the Under-15 Boys 200m in a time of 24.54 seconds.

Despite the delayed start to proceedings Asia Foster made her victrix ludorum intentions known from the early in the Under-17 Girls 400m dash when she destroyed the field in a time of 25.93 seconds forcing her fellow house mate Akea Barton to take the silver ahead of Alisha Harris Babb of Braithwaite House in third place.

She is neither a sprinter nor long distance runner, but a Jill of all trades and this victory only proved to be the beginning of extreme dominance by Brathwaite who also took pleasure in winning the 1500, 800, 200, 100 and led her 4×100 relay team to glory. She took the top honours totalling 44 points.

Just like the girl’s division the boys’ was one-way traffic in the form of Foster’s housemate Ori Edwards.  In every race he participated in with the exception of the 1500m the race was always on for second place as Edwards dismissed his rivals.

The 200m was one to watch, where he received stiff competition from Demetrius Richards of Brathwaite House and Jonathan Joseph of Straughn House but in a time of 25:38 seconds there was no sign of fatigue in sight as Edwards also took the 100m, 400m, 800m and long jump.  He placed third in the javelin and eighth in the 1500m in all putting his individual score at 53 points, which were more than enough to cement the victor ludorum title.
